GroomVerdict compares hair clippers, rotary and foil shavers, beard and body trimmers, multigroomers, hair dryers, hot-air brushes, flat irons, curling irons and air stylers, along with the guards, blades, heads and care products that keep them working, across twenty-four categories and five languages. Every page is written and signed by Jean-Benoit Buisson, the publisher named in the legal notice. We are not a retailer, a brand or a media group.
We write about tools, and only about tools. Nothing here is advice about your hair, your skin or your health: where a maker publishes a temperature in degrees or a water-resistance statement, we report it and stop there. There is nothing on this site about hair loss, skin care, IPL hair removal or dental care; when a page mentions irritation, it is about what a dull blade or too much pressure has to do with it, never about a treatment.
How GroomVerdict is funded
Every “Check price on Amazon” button on this site is an affiliate link to Amazon. If you buy something after following one, Amazon pays us a commission. The price you pay is the same either way. The details are in the affiliate disclosure.
We think you should know the shape of that incentive, not just that it exists. Amazon pays a percentage of the sale, so in principle we earn more when you buy something expensive. Three things push the other way:
- Nothing is ranked by what it earns. We do not know, page by page, which product earns us more, and we only rank a list by what the page shows. Where a cheap tool is the right answer, it goes first.
- Price and usefulness are not the same thing. Some of the things we recommend most firmly are among the cheapest on the site: a bottle of clipper oil, a barber cape. A clipper that pulls often just needs oil: why your clipper pulls lists the checks to make before buying another one.
- Nobody pays us for placement. We have never accepted money, products or anything else for a place in a ranking. If that ever changes, it will say so on the page, not in a footer.
What we do not do with hair and shaving tools
We do not publish sponsored posts. We do not publish “top 10” lists assembled from other people’s reviews. We do not rank by commission rate, by conversion rate or by what is in stock this week. We do not claim to have tested the tools: a rating sums up what the maker publishes, what the product listing states and what a tool costs next to its neighbors.
Every page says where its figures come from: specifications from the maker’s data, manuals and Amazon product listings, prices and availability from Keepa, with the date they were taken. Our method explains how that becomes a rating and an order.
Corrections
Prices move, models are replaced, and makers swap components without saying so. If something here is wrong, tell us: we will correct it and say what changed. Every page carries the date it was last checked.
