Guide combs are the part that decides the haircut, and they are also the part that disappears. A replacement set from the machine’s own maker is the one that clips properly, which matters more than it sounds: a comb that unclips mid-pass leaves a step you then chase across the whole head.

What this set does not do is go below 3 mm. That is normal — the shortest lengths are set on the machine itself — but it is worth knowing before ordering if a very short blend is what you are after.
