Is a charging stand worth having?

It keeps the tool visible, upright and charged, which is mostly about habit rather than performance — one shaver on this site includes one and the rest ship a cable.

The Philips S7887 states a charging stand and a travel case among its contents. Nothing else in our catalog includes one.

What a stand changes: the tool has a place, and it goes back to it. A cable in a drawer means a tool charged when someone remembers.

What it does not change: charge time or battery life.

Third-party stands exist for many models and are model-specific by shape, so the reference in your manual is what to buy on. Be warned about what the charging stands shelf here actually holds: two replacement wall chargers for Braun tools, and no stand at all. The name of that shelf promises more than its contents.

One consideration if the bathroom is the location: a stand keeps the tool off a wet worktop, which matters more than it sounds.

Check your own manual before you follow anything here. Temperatures, water ratings and supply voltages differ from model to model, and the maker’s own figures take precedence over anything written on this site. A supply of the wrong voltage is a failure rather than a slow charge, and the figure is printed on the tool — not inferred from a connector that happens to fit.
