Why does my shaver take longer to charge than it used to?

Check the supply and the contacts before the cell — a mismatched replacement charger or product residue on the contacts both slow charging without failing outright.

Three candidates in order.

The supply. If the original was lost and replaced, compare the output printed on it with the figure on the tool. A lower-current supply charges more slowly.

The contacts. On stand-charged tools, residue insulates. Wipe both surfaces.

The cable. A partly broken cable delivers intermittently, which reads as slow charging.

If those are sound, the cell has aged, and a cell that charges slowly usually also runs for less time.

For reference, the published full charge times on this site are one hour on most Philips and Panasonic tools, and two hours on the Remington MB5000. If yours is far beyond its own published figure, something in the chain is wrong.

Check your own manual before you follow anything here. Temperatures, water ratings and supply voltages differ from model to model, and the maker’s own figures take precedence over anything written on this site. A supply of the wrong voltage is a failure rather than a slow charge, and the figure is printed on the tool — not inferred from a connector that happens to fit.
