Braun AIO7565 vs Philips MG7962/30

Shower-proof and shorter, or finer and more attachments?

The two most complete all-in-one kits on this site, at $165 for the Braun and $125 for the Philips when we recorded prices. They diverge on where the range starts, on shower use and on what each maker publishes: Braun gives its runtime and water rating, Philips the detail of its precision comb.

A tick marks the better answer on that line only. Counting ticks does not decide the page — the two verdicts below do, because these products answer different questions.

Which of the two, for which cut

Buy the AIO7565

Take the Braun if you groom in the shower. It is the only one of the two with a published water rating and a runtime, it reaches 0.1 mm (0.004 in) — effectively bare skin — and SkinGuard is aimed at exactly the areas an all-in-one is bought for.

Buy the MG7962/30

Take the Philips for the precision comb. Eleven settings in 0.2 mm steps between 1 and 3 mm (0.12 in) is the finest step published on this site (the Braun BT9545 moves in 0.25 mm), in the exact band where a stubble is decided, and the blade never needs oiling.

What people ask about this

Nineteen pieces — is that real?

More than usual. The Philips set covers beard, head hair, nose and ear, body and detailing, which is five distinct jobs. But its listing names six items and then writes "and more", so the full contents are not on the page.

Can I use either in the shower?

Braun states 100% waterproof for the AIO7565. Philips publishes no water rating for the MG7962. That field is empty on our page rather than assumed, and the manual for the unit is the authority.
