Is the Series 7000 worth twice the Series 5000?
Two Philips clippers with the same 28-length zoom wheel and the same corded-or-cordless operation. Philips changes two things at the higher tier: the blade and the comb. Everything else on the specification sheet is shared.

A tick marks the better answer on that line only. Counting ticks does not decide the page — the two verdicts below do, because these products answer different questions.
Take the HC5630 unless your hair is thick. It has the same wheel, the same range published in full, a stated turbo mode and a stated washable body — three things the 7000 listing does not mention — for roughly half the money.
Take the HC7650 if a clipper has bogged down on you before. The DualCut blade and the self-clearing comb both address the same failure, and the one-hour charge against 90 minutes of use is the best ratio of any clipper on this site.
Both have 28 settings on a wheel. Philips publishes the range for the HC5630 as 0.5 to 28 mm and does not publish it for the HC7650, so the two cannot be compared at the ends — only in the number of steps, which is identical.
The wheel is what matters for that, and both have it. If you are choosing on that criterion alone, the cheaper one wins.
