A tool that converts between a hair dryer and an air styler, with two auto-wrap curling barrels, a paddle brush, an oval brush, a concentrator and a diffuser, measuring its own heat a thousand times a second. Case included, 700 grams.
Where it leaves us A dryer and an air styler in one body, with a case — and not one airflow figure published.
The FlexStyle converts: the same body works as a hair dryer with a concentrator or a diffuser, and as an air styler with two auto-wrap curling barrels, a paddle brush and an oval brush. Shark states it measures heat a thousand times a second to avoid extreme temperatures.
The Coanda barrels come in a pair so each side of the head is curled in its own direction, and a storage case holds all of it. The weight is published at 700 g (24.7 oz) — a figure that matters on a tool held at arm’s length, and one almost nobody states.
Two things to read carefully. The claim of less frizz and more shine is footnoted as a comparison with air-drying, which is the easiest possible baseline. And no airflow, wattage or temperature figure appears anywhere on the listing, which is a real gap on a tool that is half dryer.
Where this tool stands on the shelf is worth saying plainly. Of the four European-sourced air stylers here, it is the only one with anything listed on amazon.com — and even then no indicative price appears. It also publishes the fewest figures of the four: no wattage, where the Beurer gives 1500 W; no motor or pressure, where the Airwrap Origin gives both; no temperature in degrees, which all five American stylers on this shelf give alongside an airflow of 28 m (92 ft)/s, at $47 to $110. The 700 g (24.7 oz) is the one number here that nobody else states, and on a tool held up at arm’s length for twenty minutes it is not the least useful one. The Beurer Iconic Pro, Dyson Airwrap Origin and Dyson Airwrap i.d. are the other three on the air stylers shelf.

The good points, and the rest
Strengths
The only one of the four European air stylers here supplied, like a dryer, with a concentrator and a diffuser
Two auto-wrap barrels, so both sides of the head curl in their own direction
The weight is published — 700 g (24.7 oz) — the only one of the four European stylers here to state it
A storage case is included
Compromises
Shark publishes no airflow figure, no wattage and no temperature in degrees
The frizz claim is compared with air-drying, which is the least demanding baseline available
An aerodynamic phenomenon in which a jet of air follows a nearby curved surface, drawing the hair with it and wrapping it around the barrel. Both Shark and Dyson build their curling attachments on it, and both name it in their own listings.
Is it a dryer or a styler?
Both, and that is the product. The same body takes a concentrator and a diffuser like a dryer, and auto-wrap barrels and brushes like a styler. What Shark does not publish is the airflow figure that would let you compare the drying half against a dedicated dryer.
