A straightener sold with nothing published about it
ghd appears twice on this site: a straightener and a heat protection spray. It is
the same brand, and they are documented in opposite ways.
What we found writing the reviews
The spray publishes the figure that matters. The ghd bodyguard
states protection up to 230 °C (446 °F): the ceiling of the two Remington
straighteners in this catalog, and so a figure you can actually set against your
own tool. The other European spray here, the Redken One United,
states no temperature.
The straightener publishes nothing. The ghd gold listing carries three
bullets — quality and durability, long-lasting, flexible styling — and no
temperature, no plate width, no heat-up time and no weight. Eleven of the twelve
straighteners on this site publish at least a top temperature. Our page says
“not published” rather than borrowing figures from another model in the range.
That is a fact about the listing, not the tool. The link on this page goes to
Amazon, and what a buyer can check before ordering is what is on the page they
land on; the manual or the maker’s site may say more.
The straightener guide places it third, behind the Remington S3500 and
the BaByliss ST393E, precisely because nothing on it can be checked;
what the temperature dial means explains what the others publish.
Manufacturer specifications not published on the listing
