BaByliss appears three times on this site: a straightener, a four-in-one hot air
brush and a curling tong. All three are heated tools, and the family
characteristic is the temperature range.
What we found writing the reviews
A wide spread between the two ends. The C325E tong starts at 230 °F —
110 °C, as BaByliss states it; the ST393E straightener runs to 455 °F,
above the 446 °F of the two Remingtons, and the ghd publishes no temperature at
all. A tool cannot go below its lowest setting or above its highest, and those
are the two figures that decide what it can be used on.
A heat mat is included with the ST393E. It decides whether a hot tool can be
put down: storing heated tools covers the rest.
Three barrel diameters on one air brush. The AS122E carries 38, 25 and
20 mm brushes plus a smoothing head, which covers short hair as well as long.
Warranties are stated. Five years on the straightener, three on the air
brush — commitments rather than claims.
One thing consistently missing. BaByliss publishes no plate width on the
straightener and does not say whether the air brush heads rotate — a
specification the Remington and Rowenta brushes both give. Those fields are
empty on our pages rather than assumed.
And none of the three is listed on amazon.com. All three buttons here run a
search on the American store, and each page says so rather than leaving the
button to find out.
